Off the Bench: Carroll finally gets to face a running game

Dickinson State isn’t exactly hiding its offensive plan.

The Blue Hawks (7-3) bring with them the first real ground threat to the Carroll College football team (11-0) this season as the squad from North Dakota visits Nelson Stadium in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday.

In a “Sunday Selection” party at the Brewhouse restaurant, the Carroll College football team found out it would be hosting a familiar foe this weekend in the first round of the NAIA national playoffs.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Top-ranked and undefeated reigning NAIA champion Sioux Falls defeated No. 4 Morningside College 49-21 Saturday to secure the program’s eighth Great Plains Athletic Conference championship in nine years.

Wagner named offensive player of week

Junior quarterback Gary Wagner of Carroll College was named the Frontier Conference offensive player of the week. Wagner went 21 of 30 passing for 238 yards and three touchdowns in Carroll's 26-10 win over Montana Western.
