Northern stretches CC to 4

The Saints dropped the first game of the match against Montana State-Northern, but came back to beat the Skylights 28-30, 30-27, 30-24, 30-26. It was the the Saints first Frontier Conference match of the season.
The Lights used a quick attack and solid play by hitter Jordan Fox to claim the first game of the match.
The Saints (10-3, 1-0) led 23-22 late in the first game, but the Lights came back to take the lead at 27-26 when Fox slammed down a kill. The junior from Alpine, Utah, finished off the game with a kill.
The Saints had to sweat in the second game as well, when a block by Northern's Jasmine Mitchell gave the Skylights a 23-22 lead, but Carroll rallied.
They took a 29-27 lead when Northern was called for being over the line and they were able to close out the game a few moments later. The Saints controlled most of the third game taking a 19-16 lead midway through when Christie Tyrrell served up an ace. Carroll wasn't challenged after that point for the rest of the game.
The match looked like it could go to five games when Northern took a 17-15 lead in the fourth, but Tiffany Rochelle notched a kill to to give Carroll a 21-20 advantage.
Later in the game, Nicole Todorovich blocked a Northern kill attempt to give Carroll a 25-22 lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Saints coach Amy Heuiser said her team didn't get into a rhythm until the fourth game.
"We needed to come up and serve tough and improve our passing," Heuiser said. "Our passing wasn't there the first game."
Lena Mortensen led the team with 12 kills and Rochelle notched 13. Amber Carter had 24 digs for the Saints.
