Helena barrel racer Shelley Murphy had a big weekend on the final weekend of the summer events of the PRCA Montana circuit.

Murphy won in Dillon and took second in White Sulphur Springs to jump into third place in the circuit standings with over $1,500 on the weekend. She trails Helena's Cally Goyins, who is in second place, and overall leader Mercede Knudson of Vaughn.

Helena's Peggy Schluter is in ninth place making it three Helenans in the top 10 of the barrel racing standings.

Boulder's Ben Wrzesinski and Toston's Scott Owens are running 3-4 in the bareback. Townsend's Shawn Downing is third in steer wrestling followed by Helena's Shannon Blixt who is in eighth.

Cleve Fuller, Matt and John Robertson of Augusta, and Sam Levine of Wolf Creek are all in the top six in the team roping.
