MPEA annual meeting Friday & Saturday

The Montana Public Employees Association will hold its annual meeting Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19, in Kalispell’s Outlaw Inn.

According to a news release from MPEA, Gov. Brian Schweitzer will meet with MPEA members at the association’s Friday afternoon session.

Other Friday speakers include Richard Pimentel and J.D. Lynch of Butte, who served in Montana’s House of Representatives and Senate. Pimentel is a nationally-known expert on the Americans for Disability Act, as well as disability management and job retention and recruitment. Lynch will be the labor organization’s evening banquet speaker.

The association’s business activities, election of officers and training seminar are scheduled for Saturday, according to MPEA Executive Director Quinton Nyman.

MPEA is an independent labor organization representing over 7,000 public employees working for the state, university system, counties, cities, school districts and special governmental districts.
