Penny J. Fassett was recently promoted to human resources manager for American Chemet Corp. and is now responsible for the company’s human relations functions. Fassett joined the company in 1988 in finance and administration, with subsequent promotions to positions in quality control, production and administration. She has held certification as a professional in human resources (PHR) since 2002.
Scott Huchison of Montana State Fund recently completed his Level 1 Building Operator Certification, after intensive study on building systems and energy conservation, heating and cooling systems and other functions offered by the International Building Operators Association.
Valley Bank of Helena recently announced several additions to its staff.
Michael Loftis is the new branch manager of the bank’s Eastside branch on 9th Avenue. He was previously with Wells Fargo Financial and before that spent three years as a stock broker in Missoula. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Georgia.
Traci O’Keefe is a personal banker at the bank’s Montana Avenue Branch. She was previously a production assistant with Countrywide Home Loans. The Calgary native has woprked in the banking and lending industry since moving to the U.S. and becoming a citizen in 1994. Kristin Huntley is a personal banker at the bank’s Montana Avenue Branch. She was previously with Wells Fargo Financial, and graduated with a degree in business from Montana State University in 2005.
Morrison-Maierle recently announced three additions to its Helena staff.
Cody Salo joins the firm’s Highways Group as a staff engineer. He spent the past two years working in Sheridan, Wyo., and graduated from Montana State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering with a focus on transportation engineering.
Rona Keech joins the firm’s corporate staff as a corporate staff assistant. She has 16 years of experience in the construction and lumber industries in positions as office manager, controller and general manager.
Jona Parriman has joined the Accounting Department as a staff accountant. She has more than 13 years of experience in the contracting and aeronautic design fields as an accountant, office manager and finance manager, and holds bachelor’s degrees from Carroll College in both acounting and business administration.
Dr. Kevin L. Rencher recently completed his certification exams and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the only board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of pediatric dentistry.
Russell Wolf of Farm Bureau Financial Services recently completed the Essentials of Life Products course, an eight-week course addressing the fundamentals of life insurance products.
David McKeever has joined Diamond Construction as a project manager/ estimator. He was previously with Electro Scientific Industries in Portland, Ore., where he worked as a mechanical engineer since 2000. He is a graduate of Montana State University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Loren Brown has been promoted to financial officer/assistant security officer at Mountain West Bank. He has been with the bank for 21/2 years and has experience in many aspects of banking. Brown is a Carroll College graduate.
Barda Allen has been awarded the Wellness Home Certification from Nikken, the direct sales merchant of wellness products.
Laura George, owner of Sugar Salon, and Beth Porter, network educator, completed a series of four Bumble and Bumble course in New York, including several styling techniques and business skills. Porter then teaches the curriculum to the salon’s other staff.
Charles Wilson of Jensen Jewelers in Capital Hill Mall has completed the company’s eight-week “Master Jewelry Salesman” program, including training in all aspects of the business.
Dena Brown, nail technician, recently joined the staff of Simply Nails and Hair, specializing in acrylics, manicures and pedicures. She can be reached for an appointment at 443-4700.

Linda McCray of Designs Unlimited in Clancy, designed the 2006 Catholic Diocese of Helena annual campaign, which received one of three awards given at the International Catholic Stewardship Council’s conference in Boston. McCray recently graduated from the University of Montana with the terminal degree master of fine arts in painting and drawing.
