ExplorationWorks! gets grant for Girl-Tech

By The Helena IR - 09/17/07

The Women’s Foundation of Montana has awarded $3,710 to ExplorationWorks! for support of a Girl-Tech class that encourages young girls to engage in science and technology through the use of robotics.

The program encourages girls from lower income homes to apply and uses women mentors to teach the girls-only class. The program also exposes girls to career opportunities in science.

Established in 1999 as a component fund of the Montana Community Foundation, WFM is dedicated to improving the economic status of women and creating a brighter economic future for girls.
