Mike McGrath has strong showing in chief justice race
By INDEPENDENT RECORD - 06/04/08
Since only two candidates appeared on the ballot — McGrath, the current state attorney general, and Helena trial lawyer Ron Waterman — both will appear on the general election ballot in November.
McGrath garnered 182,388 votes on Tuesday, compared to 47,540 for Waterman, according to the Montana Secretary of State’s Office.
McGrath, who is serving his second term as attorney general, is barred by term limits from running for that office again.
McGrath and Waterman are running to succeed Chief Justice Karla Gray.
