The annual meeting of the Montana Public Employees Association will be held in Butte’s Copper King Hotel and Convention Center June 6 and 7.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer is scheduled to speak to the association of public employees at its Friday night banquet.

The public employee labor union represents over 7,500 employees working in government at the state, university, county, city and school district levels.

In addition to Schweitzer, GOP gubernatorial candidate Roy Brown will be addressing members. Both candidates for state auditor, Monica Lindeen of Huntley and Duane Grimes of Clancy, will speak to MPEA members on Saturday.

MPEA represents the staff of the Office of Public Instruction; and its superintendent, Linda McCulloch, will meet with members Friday afternoon to discuss her bid for the position of secretary of state.

Candidates for attorney general and superintendent of Public Instruction are also scheduled to attend and meet with MPEA members, according to a news release from the labor organization.

MPEA Executive Director Quinton Nyman said members will also be involved in training sessions, receive reports from MPEA leadership and nominate members to three regional directorships.
