Jeanette Louise Schlenske
Jeanette was born on Oct. 12, 1964 in Superior, Ariz., to David and Carol Shackelford. She attended school in Globe, Ariz., then moved with her family to Helena in 1979, where she resided ever since. Jeanette graduated from Capital High School where she was an all-star cheerleader. She then received a degree in computer science from the Helena College of Technology.
Over the years, Jeanette worked at Leslie’s Hallmark, taught aerobics at Broadwater Athletic Club, worked at State Fund and was most recently an IT specialist in the Helena School District.
Jeanette was a member of Hannaford Street Bible Church and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. She was an avid reader and studied the word of God continually. She was born with the gift of song, and her passion for music and singing were among her greatest pleasures. Jeanette sang with a local Christian band called Light Shine, which ministered at Montana State Prison. One of her greatest joys — sharing with friends, family and folks she met the love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ — will leave a lasting impression on all.
Jeanette was an exceptionally stylish and classy woman. She turned heads everywhere she went, and all who knew her agree that she was beautiful both inside and out. Jeanette had a wonderful sense of humor and spread joy and laughter to those around her. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did. Jeanette tackled tasks with enthusiasm, integrity, dedication and excellence. Jeanette enjoyed good Mexican food, playing golf, watching movies, being outdoors and taking long drives with her friends and loved ones.
Jeanette dearly loved and cherished her family, and made sure to always put them ahead of other priorities. Jeanette used to say that giving birth to her son, Aaron Sark, in 1982 was the greatest thing that ever happened to her. She cherished the long talks they shared. Jeanette also treasured her relationship with her sister, Alane. They had a special bond and took many longs walks together, sharing things sisters only share with each other. They also took great pleasure in planning family holidays, creating many lasting memories. In 1989, Jeanette married Damon, the love of her life. During the next 19 years, Jeanette was his partner, friend and inspiration through their journeys together. Over the last year, Jeanette also received great joy from spending time with her lovely granddaughter, Shelby. Jeanette’s friends and family miss her and long for the day they are reunited with her in heaven.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Damon Schlenske; parents, David and Carol Shackelford; sister, Alane (Shackelford) Dallas; ans son, Aaron David Sark, and his wife, Amber, and their daughter, Shelby Lynn Sark.
A memorial service is set for Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at Hannaford Street Bible Church, 830 N. Hannaford St., and reception to follow.

Jeanette was a woman of God who radiated His love where ever she went. She touched our lives through her gift of song and insight into God's word. Only the comfort and peace of God can fill the whole in your life with her passing but what a wonderful thing to know you will see her again in the by and by. God's peace to you, Sharon and Ed Tregidga "
