Freshman forward Meghan O’Connell scored in the 74th minute to lift the Carroll College soccer team to a 1-0 win over Frontier Conference foe Westminster College in Utah on Tuesday.

O’Connell buried a cross pass from Tayt Ellison 10 yards outside the goal. Abby Hoover also assisted on the play.

Carroll’s Katie Beall stopped seven shots to pick up the shutout.

Westminster falls to 5-7-1 overall, 0-2-0 in conference.

The Saints (6-4-0 overall, 2-0-0 in conference) travel to Prescott, Ariz., to face Embry-Riddle Saturday and Sunday.
