A Broadwater County Commission candidate forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Ambulance Building, 417 Broadway, in Townsend.
Four candidates are vying for two seats on the county commission.
The forum is sponsored by Broadwater County Farm Bureau and Broadwater CattleWomen.
Shriners screening for children Saturday
A Shriners Hospital health screening for children is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Hospital. Shriners Hospitals for Children specialize in providing expert, innovative care for children under the age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate. There is no charge for the clinic or any services provided by Shriners Hospitals for Children.
To make an appointment, call 406-442-5305. Clinic participants should enter at the main entrance at the Imaging Center.
Daughters of Nile fashion show Saturday
The Daughters of the Nile’s annual fashion show, “Soaring on a Never-Ending Journey,” will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel.
Sponsored by Daughters of the Nile Temple No. 79, the event will begin with a social hour at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at noon and the fashion show at 1 p.m.
Money raised at the event will go toward prosthetic limbs, braces, shoes, and other medical supplies requested by Shriners Hospitals.
This show will feature fashions from Helena businesses: Dillards, Macy’s, Coquettes Deux, Target, The Leather Store, Corral West, Capital Sports and The Base Camp. Kitson’s Clothing of Cascade and Inge’s of Great Falls will also take part in the show.
There will also be door prizes and other drawings.
The cost of the luncheon is $20, and tickets can be purchased by calling 443-2230, 442-7882 or 442-9958.
