Obama signs stolen
By Todd Harwell and Elena Flanagan, 909 East Broadway - 10/17/2008
As Americans we are truly fortunate to have freedom of speech and the freedom to support and promote the candidate of our choosing. If others have had your Obama yard sign taken or would like to get one — the Obama headquarters on the walking mall has them.

You are just not getting it. You are comparing what was said at a McCain event to what is happening on a persons private property? Your link isn't helping your position, that incident happened at a public University (and I do not approve of it). I always thought you "right-winger" types didn't want people telling you what you can and can't do on your private property? "

Sen. Obama could have condemned the display if he wanted to. He chose not to just as Sen. McCain did not to condemn hate speech at the tape of the rally I saw. As I said, in my opinion I think they both blew it. "

Obama is hardly in a position to police all the Halloween displays in the nation. What is more important, he is not setting a tone in which people are encouraged to express such violent emotions at his rallies. That is the path McCain and Palin have chosen, and you can buy into it or not. I choose not to. "

I have seen the video clips you are talking about and I agree that those comments are ignorant and wrong. I agree that Sen. McCain and Gov Pallin should have said something. I also believe that Senator's Obama and Biden should condemn the hanging of Gov. Pallin and I have not seen that either so I don't believe Obama/Biden are any better than McCain/Pallin on this one.
No doubt I lean right in my political views, but you may be surprised to know that while I did vote for Sen McCain(not because I am big fan, just because I think he is the best choice available) I also voted for Gov. Schweitzer for the same reason. "
diazo wrote on Oct 30, 2008 12:45 PM:
Have you not seen the video clips of McCain and Obama rallies where the candidates call Obama a socialist and claim he "pals around with terrorists"? Have you not heard people in the crowd shouting "terrorist", "kill him", and "off with his head" when Obama's name is mentioned? McCain and Palin have yet to reprimand anyone for shouting these vulgarities.
I think anyone who is familiar with your many comments on this board would agree you are on the right side of the political spectrum. I am sorry for using the term "right-winger" if you find that offensive. You can call me a left-winger if you'd like; some on this board have called us liberals far worse. "

First of all, I would never think to google "Obama" and "noose" until you mentioned it. Why would you? I condemn ALL the hate that is involved in politics today at every level, including this very website. Why can't people disagree and not hate each other? If ANYONE were suggesting that Obama or any other candidate or person for that matter should be hung, of course I condemn that. I also condemn ALL white supremacists.
I believe that if you are running for President from either party, regardless of race or sex, your past associations, friends, financial contributions and financial contributors are all fair game. I did not hear Sen. McCain or Gov. Pallin say Sen. Obama is a terrorist or a communist. I do feel that his plans and record show a very socialist tilt.
As for your "right winger" comment, I am fed up with BOTH party's and believe it is time for a new party that is for the people and has a focus on REDUCED SPENDING and LOWER TAX'S. I guess if that makes me a right winger, so be it! "

I have small chidren and having someone come onto my porch and stick a nasty note in my mailbox is disturbing. All for the crime of having an Obama sign in my yard. You can assume what you want. "
diazo wrote on Oct 29, 2008 2:04 PM:
I don't have to imagine if anyone did that to Barack Obama. If you Google "Obama" and "noose" you will find that plenty of you right wingers are advocating lynching. Do you condemn that? Do you condemn the two white supremacists who were arrested for plotting to assassinate Barack Obama?
Do you condemn your candidates, McCain and Palin, for creating an environment which fosters this ugliness, by repeatedly using incendiary labels like "terrorist", "socialist" and "communist" to whip up the hate and fear in their gullible supporters? "

If it was teenagers, I would suggest it was the teenagers of people like naturalblonde196 and obsethed who apparently subsribe to the philosophy that anything goes as long it's directed at people you disagree with politically. And this from the party that makes private property rights a religion. Do I take it then I have your permission to take out the two McCain signs in my neighborhood, which have stood untouched despite the attacks on numerous Obama signs... perhaps because Democrats subscribe to a higher standard of personal responsibility and respect for others' property? President of the United States -or- king of the world. The last king of the world I heard of was Christ, so does this mean that obama is equating himself to the creator?
Sure sounds like obama is FULL OF IT! "

Sorry to hear thieves got your signs. It seems honesty matters a lot less than a political party these days. It's sad.
Rinnie...Obama was Acorn's attorney back in the day and recently helped fund the get out the vote efforts under investigation by the FBI in 12 states--but yep, John went to one of their rallies once. I can see how you could see those things as equal...NOT.

Officials Say FBI Probing ACORN for Voter Fraud

Supreme Court Rules With Ohio Secretary of State on Voter Fraud Rules
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/17/ohio-secretary-state-files-extension-compliance-circuit-court-voter-fraud/
I read more than just the daily democrat talking points.
The FBI investigation of Acorn in 13 states is ongoing, not discredited.
voter fraud is a crime ACORN has long been associated with, and helped with obams $800,000 donation from his campaign.
The Ohio Secretary of state has been cited by 2 lower courts for not allowing local precincts to affirm voter eligability. the supreme court just said that the Republican party can't bring suit against her, but that does not excuse the fact she is trying to make sure questionable registrations are allowed to vote.
Fraud on this scale is not a "misdemenor" it is a federal offense in a general election.
Chicago democrat style electioneering at it's finest. "

A lot of people have posted this - but just to be sure: ACORN is about Voter REGISTRATION fraud - not voter fraud - people paid to gather registrations only who fake signatures and sign as Mickey Mouse to make money. These people can rarely vote in that manner. Its a crime (misdemeanor) and should be investigated and prosecuted if found to be true. But none of these low-lifes will bump or reduce the totals for either side. The ACORN people claim that they even self-reported these violations by their canvassers. "

Nice try, mtsilvertip, but Republicans wrote the book on election fraud. The ACORN thing has been debunked extensively on other threads. We are talking here about the behavior of the GOP in Montana, which has been reprehensible recently. I'm not suggesting this vandalizing and theft of yard signs is actually being organized by the GOP, but I think it reflects the increasingly bitter and desperate attitude of Republicans who know that their corrupt policies and tactics are all catching up with them this year. Democrats don't need to steal elections because we are the majority! "

Why would anyone want one?
Just leave them in those individuals yards and let them throw them away in a few days.
I would never support stealing anything, but this does beg the question, when the democrat Secretary of State of Iowa is at the Supreme Court arguing that she should'nt be required to allow election officials to verify 200,000 suspicious registrations that are probably fraudulent.
Or perhaps by saying someone is taking yard signs it will somehow mitigate the fact that 13 states are conducting investigations of obamas group Acorn for voter fraud.
I just wonder.... "

All I am saying is thay both of these candidates could have denounced these things and neither did. In my view, neither one is better than the other on this. If I were a hard core supporter of either one, I suppose I could justify my candidates side, but I am not and I can't. "
