Michelle attended Whittier Elementary School in Bozeman and C.R. Anderson and Capital High School in Helena. During high school, Michelle played the clarinet in the high school band and participated in track. After high school, she attended Northwestern Community College in Powell, Wyo. Her favorite jobs were at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Bozeman Ford, U.S. Jet and Westmont.
Michelle married Roger E. Rowsey May 30, 1987, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Helena. They later divorced. On Dec. 13, 2000, she married Kevin Osmanson in Butte. He preceded her in death.
Michelle grew up on the family ranch and loved ranch life. She had a great love for all animals, especially cats and horses. As she was growing up, her favorite cat was Missy. Her last furry companion was Sassy. A ranch gal through and through, Michelle was an active member of 4-H and spent countless happy hours riding with her cousin, Gretchen.
Michelle was more than just active on the ranch; she was active in every area of her life as well. She loved reading and writing poetry. She enjoyed doing needlework and interior decorating. She appreciated photography and loved to photograph animals. Michelle spent quiet time just listening to music or watching a good movie. She will always be remembered for her flair for telling a great story or a side-splitting joke. Michelle's greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Rachael. They enjoyed time spent on many excursions together and love one another unconditionally.
In addition to her husband, Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jean and Nan DeBree, William C. and Betty Greenfield, and Maxine DeBree; uncle, Kenneth DeBree; and cousin and riding companion, Gretchen DeBree. Michelle is survived by her parents, Susan (Rick) Moran and William L. Greenfield of Helena; daughter, Rachael Laura Rowsey of Missoula; brothers, Richard (Julie) Massaro of Helena, Chas (Debbie) Klisis of Canada, and Lenny A. (Amy) Massaro of Colorado; and sister, Sherrie Massaro of Colorado. She is also survived by her aunts and uncle, Louise and Tom Galvin, the Rev. Sue DeBree, former pastor of Mountain View and Trinity Methodist churches in Butte, Janet Greenfield-Rach, and Nancy Greenfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special companion, Rick Fallang of Butte, with whom she spent the last four happy years camping, sight-seeing and playing games. He was an excellent caregiver and a great source of strength.

PLease accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of your daughter - there is no pain in this life quite like the loss of a child - I know we haven't seen or spoke to each other in quite some time, but, at a time like this, I wanted to send you my condolences and let you know that you are being thought of and prayers are being said for you and your family - God Bless and Keep you all "
