Names and faces

Chris Parnell has joined the Independent Record as an advertising sales consultant for the downtown area. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Montana and previously worked as national accounts manager for a publishing company and in sales for a durable medical equipment company before joining the IR. Jerry White has joined AVC Solutions as a designer/

installer. He was previously at Van's, and during his time there he earned Masters speaker training.

Randy L. Huffsmith has been promoted to vice president of CDM. He has more than 20 years of project management and design experience as a hydrologist and engineer, and currently leads the firm's mining and metals engineering service efforts as well as other business development in the western U.S.

Corey Richardson has joined Tetra Tech as a GIS analyst, providing atlas production, database development and cartography services for the firm's wind energy permitting and environmental impact statement practice areas. He is a geography graduate of the University of Vermont and previously provided GIS support for a 9-1-1 addressing company.

Mark Bartosik has joined the sales staff at Robert Allen Nissan, after eight-plus years at the Chevrolet dealership. He can be reached at 439-1854 or 442-2886.

Recognition

Joel Platts facilities captain at the Wingate by Wyndham, was recently awarded the Count on Me! Service Representative of the Year Award at a recent conference held in Puerto Rico at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort & Spa.

Platts, who has been with the Wingate for eight years, was honored for going above and beyond his duties to help guests and fellow employees, including an incident in which he performed cardiopulminary resuscitation on a co-worker who was suffering a heart attack.

Two instructors from the University of Montana-Helena College of Technology were recently recognized at a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development conference in Austin, Texas. Joan Schneider of the Office Technology Program and Karmen Williams of the Nursing Program were presented with the institute's Excellence Award and a medallion specially cast as part of the honor.

Courtney Dann McAdams was the 2008-2009 agent's leader in individual disability income insurance sales in the Montana Northwestern Mutual Financial Network offices. McAdams' office recently moved; she is now at 1325 Euclid Ave., Suite 3, and can be reached at 458-3336.
