Names and Faces
Sarah Carlson was recently introduced as the new public information and federal affairs specialist with the Public Service Commission.
Tina Shorten, a consumer representative with the Public Service Commission, was recognized for 25 years of service.
Brent Jones has joined Windermere Real Estate. He has lived in Helena for 20 years and has previous real estate experience.
Rob Kenny has joined Fox Ridge Golf Club as its PGA golf professional. A Great Falls native, Kenny has been a PGA professional since 1988 and has been Teacher of the Year twice for the Western Montana Chapter of the PGA. He can be reached at 227-8304.
Montana Shares recently elected its officers.
- Karla Ritten was elected council president. She is collection management librarian at the Lewis and Clark Library. She has chaired the development committee and served as vice president and represents the Lewis & Clark Humane Society.
- Jan Donaldson is vice president and co-chairwoman of the nominating committee. She is a registered nurse and is an at-large member of Shares.
- Susan Miles was re-elected council secretary and is chairwoman of the membership committee. She is the afternoon manager at The Sanders and is an at-large Shares member.
- Beki Brandborg will serve another term as council treasurer and chairs the finance and audit committee. She is a consultant/facilitator and represents Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force.
- Cindy Briggs, executive director of and representative to Shares from Komen Montana, was elected assistant treasurer. She is also chairwoman of the development committee and serves on the finance/audit committee.
- C. Mark Fowler is the immediate past president and will continue as an at-large member, as well as serving on the executive and nominating committees. He is an assistant attorney general.
- Other Helena members of the board include Bill Crane and Mary Wright.
West Mont recently held its annual board elections.
Current chairman David Peretto and vice-chair Rick Frost were re-elected for another term, and Lowell Bartles re-joined the board as a member-at-large. The remaining board members are Mike Billings, Mike Cooney, Deb Ekblom, Larry Fasbender, Dick Morgan, Tia Nelson, Lin Olson and Carl Tanberg.
Don Dolan of ERA Bill Bahny & Associates has completed the ERA LeadRouter course, allowing him to respond to inquiries from the firm's Web sites immediately.
Kevin Quinn, St. Peter's Hospital ambulance paramedic, will have an article published in the April issue of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services. Quinn has been with the hospital for seven years and is certified in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Karea Anderson, nutrition services chef at St. Peter's Hospital, placed in the national Kitchen Contenders Catersource Chef's Challenge in Las Vegas. A member of the Healthcare Foodservice Management team, Anderson and peer chefs placed third with "basil-scented pork with wax bean pico de gallo and lime-cilantro cream on Ecuadorian yam pupusas. The team also won the People's Choice Third Place Award with a display of appetizers on the base of stemware turned upside down.
Recognition
- Dave Samson, store manager of the Holiday Stationstore, will be inducted into the organization's 2007 Pinnacle Club for the third time. The club recognizes the managers who show results in sales growth, expense control, age-restricted sales compliance and business efficiency.
Don Dallas of Canyon Creek was recently recognized by the American Hereford Association for producing three cows named to the Dams of Distinction list, meeting strict requirements for early calving, reproductive efficiency, calving intervals and weaning weight ratios in the top end of the breeder's herd.
