Names and Faces

Amy Kafer, veterinarian, has joined Helena Veterinary Service. She earned a bachelor's of animal science degree as well as her DVM from Iowa State University, then completed an equine internship in medicine, surgery and preventative medicine at the Montana Equine Medical and Surgical Center.

Andy O'Neill, president of Valley Bank of Helena, was elected chairman of the Montana Bankers Association at the group's 106th annual conference. He will serve one year as policy maker for the banking community.

Mike Mundt, senior vice president and chief loan officer for American Federal Savings Bank, was re-elected to the board of directors of the Montana Bankers Association, where he will serve a two-year term representing the Southwestern Region.

Kristi Bryant, cosmetologist (437-1486), Leah Zitnik, massage therapist (202-7468), and Brenda Edinger, stylist (202-5031), have joined the staff of First Impressions Salon.

Blair Williams, partner in Urban Mountain Development, has been invited to speak at the Real Estate and Delopment in the Northern Rockies conference sponsored by New West in October in Missoula.

Janet Hedges, financial consultant with Raymond James Financial Services, has passed the two-day exam and met other standards of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to earn designation as a Certified Financial Planner.

Meetings

The Women's Leadership Network will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at noon at the Montana Club. The meeting will feature a presentation on the Helena Institute. Guests are welcome.

Learning Ops

Anderson ZurMuehlen CPAs and business consultants will present a four-hour Intermediate QuickBooks class on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Business Resource Center at Career Training Institute.

Topics will include recording refunds, overpayments and employee purchases; voiding prior year checks; recording trades between vendors and customers; creating reports to quickly find transactions; correcting entries for out-of-balance accounts; and using advanced filters.
