Cadillac was selected as the top brand in overall vehicle satisfaction in a survey of new vehicle buyers.

AutoPacific's 2009 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, generated from the experiences of actual new car and truck owners, named Cadillac as Top Brand for the second consecutive year. The Vehicle Satisfaction Award measures how satisfied owners are with their new car or light truck, and reflects the opinions of more than 25,000 consumers nationwide. In addition to Cadillac's overall award, the Cadillac Escalade was the VSA category winner in the Luxury Sport Utility segment. (Source: General Motors)

Happy Dodge owners

Owners of the all-new 2009 Dodge Ram and the Jeep Liberty gave top ratings to both vehicles in AutoPacific's 2009 Vehicle Satisfaction Award research. The all-new 2009 Dodge Ram won the Large Pickup Truck category, beating the new 2009 Ford F-150, while the Jeep Liberty placed at the top of the midsize Sport-Utility Vehicle category. 35.5 MPG

The Obama administration is moving toward tougher standards for tailpipe emissions. The limits will require cars to average 35.5 mpg by 2016. David Champion, the senior director of Consumer Reports auto test division, said "The U.S. is taking a major step forward in producing greener, more fuel-efficient vehicles. This decision provides a clear path for a national standard after years of uncertainty, which is a relief for the auto industry and consumers alike… This is a good step for consumers' pocketbooks, auto safety groups, and the environment."
