The downtown Helena post office, 500 N. Last Chance Gulch, is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20.

The contest is open to all ages. Participants will decorate (not carve) pumpkins using candy, glue, markers, glitter, pipe cleaners, fabric and yarn. Two local winners will be chosen by post office staff to recieve prizes. Photos of the winning pumpkins will be entered into Hershey's nationwide Sweeten Up Your Pumpkin decorating contest for a chance to win $10,000.

Decorators must provide their own pumpkins. Candy, glue and other supplies will be provided; participants are welcome to bring additional materials.
