Urologist returns to St. Pete’s group

Urologist Tim Grossman, M.D., has returned to Helena to practice at St. Peter’s Medical Group-Broadway, across from the Hospital.

Grossman previously practiced in Helena for eight years and then moved to Wisconsin with his wife and two young children for a year and a half to be closer to family. Grossman earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska and completed both his residency and internship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison.

Audiologist joins staff at ENT clinic

Audiologist Heather Lawrie, Au.D., has joined St. Peter’s Medical Group Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic.

Lawrie received her doctor of audiology and bachelor of arts in speech and hearing science at the State University of New York and the University of Buffalo. Prior to her move to Helena, Lawrie served as a clinical audiologist with Audiology Service Associates in Williamsville, N.Y. Lawrie is Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Cardiologist joins medical group

Board-certified interventional cardiologist Kris Godlewski, M.D., FACC, who specializes in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, will join St. Peter’s Medical Group Cardiology Clinic Dec. 31.

Godlewski comes to St. Peter’s from Cardiovascular Consultants, a private cardiology practice in Auburn, Wash. Godlewski earned his medical degree at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C., and his undergraduate degree at the Copernicus School of Medicine in Krakow, Poland, where he received the Deans Commendation for Academic Achievement. He completed fellowships in cardiology at the University of Louisville and the University of California-Irvine, where he earned the Deans Medical Resident Research Award and a McGrath Basic Cardiovascular Research Fellowship. Godlewski is a member of the American College of Physicians and is an American College of Cardiology fellow, among other professional distinctions. In addition to his practice in Washington, Godlewski worked in private practice in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois before moving to Helena.

The new specialist joins cardiologists Carla Kingsley, D.O., and John Ribic, D.O., at the clinic located in Suite 203 of the Maria Dean Medical Office Building next to St. Peter’s Hospital. For an appointment with Godlewski, call 457-4180.

Frontier hospice announces holiday remembrance event

Frontier hospice will hold its second annual holiday remembrance on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 400 S.Oakes, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring a picture of their loved one to display at the celebration.

St. Peter’s to hold holiday stress lecture

“Keeping the Merry in Holidays—Managing the Stress,” will be presented by licensed clinical professional counselor Charlotte Fuson at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday evening, Dec. 1. The free lecture begins at 6 p.m. in the education center, with a free “stress dot” screening starting at 5:30 p.m.

Fuson’s presentation will cover how to help children cope with holiday stress, what to do if you dread the holiday and how to make a plan that will lower your holiday stress and increase your holiday spirit. 

The talk is part of the “Better Living Lecture Series” sponsored by St. Peter’s Hospital and The Waterford. The “Better Living Lectures” are a free, educational health and wellness series provided for the community on the first Tuesday of the month. Smoking cessation class to be offered

Marie Wolny has completed training on “How to Run a Stop Smoking Program” offered by the New York State Smokers’ Quitline and “Adult Smoking Cessation” offered by Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She has also received nine certificates for completing the series “Tobacco Treatment Training of Tobacco Cessation” offered by Clinical Tools and endorsed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Wolny is now offering a program called “Own Your Own Quit” based on her own experiences that helped her quit her 45-year, two-pack-a-day habit. The “Own Your Own Quit” program consists of six two-hour classes held twice a week over three weeks for a total of 12 hours. The cost of  the 12-hour program is $150.
