Canyon Ferry: Warm weather has made almost all ice unsafe or inaccessible. Ice fishing is not recommended.

Rainbow fishing has been good in open water areas by the Silos Boat Ramp using woolly buggers or leech patterns. Anglers are reminded that Magpie Bay is closed to fishing as posted March 1-June 14.

Hauser: Rainbow fishing is good in open water areas around York Bridge, Causeway and Riverside while drifting egg sacks. A few walleye have been caught at the Causeway Bridge. Black Sandy still has some fishable ice, but anglers should use extreme caution if venturing out on the ice and be aware or rapidly changing conditions.

Holter: Ice on Holter is unsafe or inaccessible. Rainbow fishing is good from shore or boat at Gates of the Mountains. Shore anglers are using egg sacks while boat anglers are trolling rapalas to find good action. A few walleye are also being caught in Upper Holter on jigs and worms.

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: Ice has deteriorated to the point that it is not safe to access. Be patient as good fishing can be found by boat soon after ice-out.
