Marine Corps Pvt. Alan B. Conley, 18, of Helena graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on Sept. 11, 2009.
Pvt. Conley successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive boot camp training at MCRD San Diego as one of 518 recruits in 3rd BN, Lima Company, Platoon 3249. While in boot camp, Conley earned the Expert Marksmanship badge and National Defense Medal.
Following 10 days home on leave he will report to Camp Pendleton for one month at Military Combat Training. He will then attend Military Occupation Specialty School at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Conley hopes to be stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C.
PFC Nathan K. Baxter, son of Cindy Baxter and Gary Baxter of Helena and married to Ashley Allen, graduated from Basic Combat Training on Sept. 2 from Fort Jackson, S.C.
He was in Company A/2nd Battalion/13th Infantry Regiment. He will now move on to his Diesel Mechanics Training also at Fort Jackson, and then he will come back to East Helena and be a part of the Montana Army National Guard as a MOS Qualified Soldier.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Breann N. Hill has arrived for duty at an Air Force Base in South Carolina.
Hill, a fire truck maintenance crew member, recently graduated from the Special Vehicle Maintenance Apprentice Course at the Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme, Calif.
She is the daughter of Tomi J. Rautio and Bruce A. Rautio of Helena.
Hill graduated in 2004 from Capital High School, and in 2005 graduated from Rtech College of Cosmetology in Helena.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Sarah A. Connolly graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Connolly earned distinction as an honor graduate.
She is the daughter of Rich Connolly of Eagle Point, Ore., and Rita LaSalle of Helena.
Connolly graduated in 2003 from Eagle Point High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2008 from Oregon State University, Corvallis.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Troy J. Rodriguez has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Rochester, Minn.
Rodriguez, a station commander assigned to the Minneapolis Army Recruiting Battalion. He has served in the military for 20 years.
He is the son of Norma Rodriguez of Tampa, Fla., and John Rodriguez of Helena.
Rodriguez is a 1987 graduate of Jefferson High in Tampa.
Army Pvt. Michael A. Pomatto has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. The course of instruction included basic combat training and advanced individual training.
He is the son of Anthony Pomatto of Helena and Cherelyn Geller of Syracuse, N.Y.
Pomatto is a 2006 graduate of Solvay High School.
