Montanans for Corporate Accountability will show the film “FLOW” at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Neighborhood Center, 200 S. Cruse Ave.
This 84-minute documentary explores a number of issues regarding water — current uses, scarcity, pollution, bottled water, access to water and ownership — with an emphasis on the efforts of corporations to privatize water supplies and water systems.
It also describes various citizen initiatives to access and protect clean water, from building community water systems to lawsuits challenging corporate takeovers to grassroots organizing.
Case studies are drawn from around the world, including India, South Africa and the United States.
The fundamental issues regarding water are how to distinguish rights from privileges, and how to define the boundaries between the commons and private property.
The screening is free and open to the public.
