Cadets of the Montana Youth Challenge program of the Montana National Guard completed a 130-mile relay Friday night in effort to raise money for the Liberty House at Fort Harrison.
Participating cadets began their 130-mile journey early Friday morning from the University of Montana-Western in Dillon. Each cadet passed the baton after running one mile until they reached their destination at Fort Harrison.
The hope was that donations for the Liberty House would be made per mile, Commandant of the Montana Youth Challenge Program Tim Hansen said in a press release. Donations may also be sent directly to Hansen at 790 East Cornell St., Dillon MT 59725.
Upon completion, the Liberty House will provide veterans' families a place to stay during in-patient stays at the Veterans Hospital.
