Boulder Librarian Cynthia "Cyd" Kreizwald was suspended and placed on immediate paid leave at Thursday night's library board meeting, said Jefferson County Commission Chairman and library board member Ken Weber.

The action took place during a closed session of the monthly board meeting.

A special personnel hearing for Kreizwald is set for Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Boulder Public Library, according to Weber.

"We can ratify the decision, change the decision or scrap the decision," said Weber, of the upcoming hearing.

County Personnel Officer Kellie Doherty said Friday that she could not discuss the board's action or allegations against Kreizwald because of privacy issues.

Kreizwald declined to comment Friday.

Three board members, Phyllis Tappe, Kathy Bovee and Holly Harper, voted Thursday night to terminate Kreizwald, said Weber.

Jennifer Wise voted against termination and Weber abstained.
