Helena area residents recently appointed to various boards and councils by Gov.Brian Schweitzer include:
Children's Trust Fund: Mary Gallagher, Helena. Gallagher is the Early Assistance Program director for the Office of Public Instruction.
County Printing Board: Laura Obert, Townsend. Obert was elected to the Broadwater County Commission in 2008.
Board of Hearing Aid Dispensers: Jim Lieberg, Helena. Lieberg is manager of Lehrkind's Coca-Cola. Lieberg also served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Montana National Guard.
Board of Investments: Teresa Olcott Cohea, Helena. Cohea is a Financial consultant with DA Davidson & Co. She served in various budget, financial and administrative positions with the state of Montana.
James Turcotte, Helena. Turcotte is a financial consultant with Raymond James Financial Services
Southwestern Montana State Veterans' Home Site Selection Committee: Larrey Lattin, Boulder. Lattin is a decorated Viet Nam veteran, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion. He works for Envirocon.
Montana Council on Developmental Disabilities: "secondary consumers" (parents/guardians): Nanette Whitman-Holmes, Helena and Debra Ekblom, Boulder.
Disabilities community member: Rudy Shiner, Helena.
Others appointed to the council: Anna Whiting-Sorrell, Helena (Department of Public Health and Human Services) and Sara Casey, Helena (Office of Public Instruction).
Building Codes Council: Bill Qualls, East Helena. Qualls is a master electrician with Electro Controls. He's active in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and has been an instructor for the Montana Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Council.
David Gallik, Helena. Gallik is in private law practice and served in the Montana House of Representatives from 2001-2008.
Community Service Commission: Karin Billings, Helena. Billings is the education program manager for the Office of Public Instruction's Health Enhancement & Safety Division.
Humanities Montana: Sidney Armstrong, Helena. Armstrong is a consultant for nonprofit organizations and foundations.
Statewide Interoperability Executive Advisory Council: Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton
University of Montana Local Executive Board: Bob Ream, Helena. Ream was a professor with the University of Montana College of Forestry from 1969-1997 and served several terms in the Montana House of Representatives.
UM-Helena College of Technology Local Executive Board: Cheryl Lamb, Helena. Lamb has taught in the Billings and Great Falls schools, and has also been an adjunct professor at Carroll College.
Philip Campbell, Helena. Campbell has performed graduate work at the University of Montana. and previously served on the University of Montana Local Executive Board.
