An 18-year-old woman has been charged with having sex with a 15-year-old girl after the child had been drugged.
Hannah Elizabeth Pool faces a felony count of sexual intercourse without consent in connection with the case, and charges against an adult male individual are pending, according to Deputy County Attorney Carolyn Clemens. Until charges are filed, the IR won't identify the other suspect in the case.
According to court documents, the 15-year-old girl's parents contacted Helena police last week about their concerns with their daughter's drug use and a possible occurrence of sexual abuse. The girl was being treated at St. Peter's Hospital for withdrawal from drugs at the time the call was made.
When officers arrived at the hospital to investigate the allegations, the girl told them that the unidentified man had been providing her with drugs since November 2005.
The girl said he injected her with a mixture of Oxycontin - a prescription pain reliever - and morphine on several occasions. The girl told officers that she was initially afraid to inject herself, so the man did it for her.
The girl stated that, on Dec. 23, the man injected her with drugs, and while under the influence of the narcotics, she had sexual intercourse with him and Pool.
The girl showed investigators injection sites on her body, and directed them to the location of a hypodermic needle and spoon used for injecting drugs, at her residence.
According to court documents, the man involved in the incident admitted to police that he had injected the girl with Oxycontin and morphine, and that he and Pool had sexual intercourse with the girl on one of those occasions.
The 15-year-old girl said she believed that the man knew her age because he was present when she celebrated her birthday.
Sexual intercourse without consent carries a maximum punishment of life in prison.
