A 48-year-old Boulder man suffered head injuries when his motorcycle collided with a van on N. Montana Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Timothy Keener, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to St. Peter's Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, according to Helena Police Sgt. Steve Hagen.

Keener was heading south on N. Montana Avenue on his Yamaha Roadstar when the Chevy Astro van, driven by 76-year-old Donald Richards of Clancy, pulled in front of him to make a left-hand turn onto Birch Street. Hagen said the crash was reported at 2:14 p.m.

Richards was cited for failing to yield to the right of way, Hagen said.

Traffic on North Montana Avenue near the scene of the crash was blocked for about 30 minutes while the wreckage was cleared.
