The Department of Justice Web site -- www.doj.mt.gov -- recently received the "WAGGY" for Best Overall Web site from the Conference of Western Attorneys General.
Web team members are IT Project Manager Gregg Wheeler, Content Manager Judy Beck, Web Developer Alder Locke and Public Information Officer Lynn Solomon.
The awards were handed out by an eight-member review committee representing attorneys general offices in California, Colorado, Montana, Washington, South Dakota and Utah.
Linda Brughelli, director of the Division of Legal Support and Technology for the California Attorney General's Office, noted that winning the WAGGY is "a significant achievement."
"The site is organized by function rather than department organization, making it more logical for the public to access the information they want," she said.
In 2003, the Department of Justice site won WAGGIES for Best Redesign and for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Chris Tweeten, chief civil counsel in the office of Attorney General Mike McGrath at the Department of Justice, recently received a Distinguished Service Award from the State Bar of Montana for "outstanding leadership and service" to the Bar's board of trustees.
Tweeten has been secretary/treasurer of the Board of Trustees since 2004.
Prior to that, he served as a representative of the Helena-Broadwater County area for nine years. Tweeten joined the Attorney General's Office in 1993. He is a 1977 graduate of the University of Montana School of Law.
