Helena resident Jamie Hatcher has accepted a two-year assignment with the Peace Corps to serve as a community health volunteer in Madagascar.
She is the daughter of Jim Hatcher and Penny Paddock of Helena.
Patrick Bahls, a 1993 graduate of Helena High School, has been named assistant professor of mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
He is the son of Loren and Peggy Bahls.

Katherine Thompson Newell of Helena was recently awarded the Dacie Moses Award and the Ian Kraabel Memorial Prize at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., where she is studying history. She is the daughter of Susan and Bruce Newell of Helena.
Anderson Heiman was named to the spring semester Dean's List at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. He is the son of Lee Heiman of Helena.
Cory Bradley of Helena was named to the spring term honor roll at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.
Shane Cornelius of Helena earned a liberal arts degree and Travis Tabbert of Helena earned an electrical technology degree from North Dakota State College of Science.
