Feb. 26, 1938 - Dec. 20, 2004
Mary Ann Robinson, age 66, died of natural causes at her home in Helena on Dec. 20, 2004. She was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Bottineau, N.D., to Joseph and Naomi Galvin. She was raised by her grandmother, Auntie Mil, and Joseph and Mildred until she set out on her own. She attended grade school in Max Bass, N.D., and Bottineau. Mary Ann graduated high school from The Sacred Heart Academy in Minot, N.D.
Mary Ann graduated at the top of her class from The Sacred Heart Academy and was awarded the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award. Mary Ann decided after graduating high school that she would accept her scholarship to Carroll College in Helena. She moved to Helena and started attending college only to meet the one true love of her life. Mary Ann met Wayne A. Robinson and she captured his heart and love. They were married July 20, 1959. They had four children and managed to beat the odds and stay married for 45 years.
Mary Ann enjoyed crocheting afghans, doilies, spending time with her family at their cabin in the Lincoln area and most especially her grandchildren. Once her children had left home and Mary Ann retired from the state of Montana she needed something to keep her busy so she started entering her beautiful creations in the local county fair. Once she set her mind to something she always followed through. This was no exception, after entering items in the fair she brought home many first place and grand champion ribbons for her entries. Mary Ann also had come to enjoy her daily chats with Aunt Dorothy every morning and finishing the crossword puzzle together.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Wayne Robinson; her children, Randy and (Rita) Robinson, Robert and (Sarah) Robinson, Jo Ann and (Jim) Hamers, and Molly and (Chris) Friis; father and stepmother Joseph and Mildred Galvin; brothers, Patrick (Sandi) Galvin, Thomas Galvin and John (Julee) Galvin; sisters, Eileen Galvin, Diane (Art) Taylor and Mary (Donald) Parlin; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a rosary for any who would like to attend at the Hagler-Anderson Mortuary on Dec 26, 2004, at 7 p.m. The service will be held on Monday, Dec 27, at 11 a.m. at the Hagler-Anderson Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Forestvale Cemetery. Memorials in Mary Ann's name should be sent to either St. Peters Hospice of Helena, 2475 Broadway, Helena MT 59601 or The Sacred Heart Monastery P.0. Box 364, Richardton, N.D., 58652.
