May 2, 1974 - June 24, 2009

Karl Robert Pentecost was born and raised in Butte. He and his wife, Char, left this life far too young as a result of a tragic accident. They would have celebrated their 10th anniversary July 3. They left behind their two young sons.

Karl graduated from Butte High School in 1992 and attended one year at Montana Tech and one year at MSU. He later started work at Asmii, then following his grandfathers' footsteps he became an electrician. He started his own business, Legacy Electric, in September 2004.

Karl loved his life. He had the job that he loved, a beautiful wife and two wonderful sons. He said, "Life does not get any better than this."

Karl was an avid snowboarder, and he and his friend, Larry, were the first boards to hit the slopes at Discovery Basin. Karl also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, especially hunting camp, where he was always "dressed to kill." He had many joys in life, but his biggest was his wife and two sons.

Karl lived life to the fullest and had a wonderful talent for socializing. His attitude was why put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

After a short courtship, Karl married the love of his life, Charmon Helmick, in 1999.

He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member, Chamber of Commerce and Montana Club member. He was always involved in supporting the community. He was a sponsor of the Helena Bighorn hockey and enjoyed taking his son to the games.

Karl leaves behind his two sons, Evan and Layne; parents, Karl and Jean Ann Pentecost of Butte; sister, Jennifer Pentecost of Butte; grandmother, Susan Podgorski of Butte; "his other mother," Nanci Taylor; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karl is proceeded in death by his uncles, Jeff Messer and Robert Pentecost; grandparents, Bud and Viola Hebert, John Pentecost and Edwin Messer.

"We are so proud of you Karl, you did everything right. We love and miss you," Mom, Dad and Jen.

Karl and Char will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Helena following a funeral at the Cathedral of St. Helena 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29.
