Tiffani Angela Johnson Pennington was born to Mark and Alana Johnson in Butte, May 28, 1968.

Our only child bolted straight into Jesus' arms in her own home after an extreme struggle with a rare lung disease and back injury. She died Sept. 21, 2008, in Helena.

She labored 3½ years because of her deep dedication for her only child, Byron, who will be 15 in weeks and was her caregiver most of the time all night. That certainly makes a man out of a young boy.

Tiffani woke up every morning of her life with a smile. Deeply spiritual, she "mothered" everything, bringing everyone in need home and becoming a billet mother for the hockey players in Helena for several years. Her home was filled with much laughter and food for the growing young men and to this day they still called her their second mom and continued to keep in touch.

She was always giving things away, often things she needed for herself. She held on loosely to the material things of this earth and enjoyed the moment.

Graduating from Helena High School in 1986, she attended MSU for four years (enjoying studies and sorority life) and Carroll for one year. Tiff hungered for more knowledge and was always taking courses to better herself, obtaining many other certificates of higher education. Tiffani loved her profession as a compliance loan officer, and her last position was at Community Credit Union until her illness.

Every moment of life was busy in her youth -- as editor of the HHS newspaper, also avid water skier, jet skier, wind surfer, roller-skater, trail-bike rider, snowmobile driver and champion pool player -- winning a trip to Memphis.

Tiffani married Edward Booth in 1991, out of that union came a son. They later divorced. Tiffani and Robert Pennington married and recently divorced.

Tiff is survived by her parents, Mark and Alana Johnson; her only child, Byron Pennington, the extraordinary boy who kept us alive during this struggle; great-grandfather, David Micheletti of Butte; uncles, Mark Byron Sanderson from Butte and V. Thomas Sanderson, M.D., from New York City; cousins, Mark Byron Sanderson II and Brittney Lanai Sanderson; her two ex-husbands, Edward Booth and Bob Pennington of Helena; her ex-mother and father in-law, Robert and Glenda Pennington, all of Helena; many cousins including the Goodman cousins; her compassionate home care givers and Lilly, her Persian cat.

Tiffani Angela had exceptional parenting skills, now she is heaven's new angel.

Peace and no more pain now "Tiffie Two Shoes"!

Services were Friday, Sept. 26, at Hagler-Anderson Chapel. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at a later date at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Butte. Memorials may be sent in Tiff's name to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604-4455.
