Frank "Bud" E. Corbett passed away at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls on Jan. 2, 2009.
He was born to Thomas Maroni and Mabel Eliason Corbett on Nov. 15, 1924, in Bancroft, Idaho. He was number eight of 11 children.
They moved to Montana when he was quite young, settling in the Fort Shaw and Simms area. They lived on several ranches, and he worked with his dad in the family sawmill. He attended various county gradeschools and Simms High School.
He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and was stationed on the Indiana, where he was a boiler tender.
He moved to Helena in 1953 and worked at several jobs including Gamers Bakery and John Woolsey's Tire Shop.
He married Thelma Cable on July 2, 1955, and to this union two girls were born, Donna and Lucille. Thelma passed away quite young.
In 1970 Bud and his brother Darrell bought the Capital Laundry and Radiant Dry Cleaners, which they operated until they sold it and retired in 1987. In 1973 he married Adaline Damuth of Townsend, who had five children.
He enjoyed camping, omoksee's, riding horses, attending brandings and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was full of mischief and loved to give family and friends a hard time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; brothers, Hap, Pete, Joe and Darrell; sisters, Barbara and Donna; and stepdaughter, Helen and her husband, Ralph Dupea.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Adaline; daughters, Donna Corbett of Billings and Lucy Burke of Miles City; two grandchildren, Skyler Burke and Trista (Cooper) Muraoka; one great-grandson, Rhyse; stepchildren, Allan (Jane) Damuth of Townsend, Coy (Ken) McHenry of Chinook, Lynda (Darrell) Haffner of Helena and Don (Chele) Damuth of Spearfish, S.D.; brothers, Tom (Hattie) of Helena; sisters, Anna Lou (Lloyd) Meland of Great Falls, and Florence Turnbow and Alta Latham of Cascade; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Chapel services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Hagler-Anderson Chapel with military graveside honors to follow at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison with the Lewis and Clark Veterans Council officiating.
