Skiler Elizabeth Hampson, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter and friend, passed away Nov. 19, 2008, as a result of a car accident in September.

She was born Dec. 16, 1983, in Poplar to Mike and Vicki Hampson and moved to Helena with her family at the age of 5. She was the oldest of four children. She attended Jim Darcy Elementary School, C.R. Anderson Middle School, Capital High and Carroll College, where she was a senior and due to graduate in May 2009.

Skiler developed a love of helping others early on. She would frequently volunteer at the VVA fireworks stand during the summers and was always more than willing to lend an ear to a friend in need. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies from her vast collection.

After her accident in September, she was addicted to watching the Food Network channel, and even went so far as to order the magazine. Skiler would try to get her family to make these elaborate concoctions for her, although they had no idea where to begin!

To Skiler, her family was the world. She loved them all so much, and would bend over backwards to help in any way possible. She loved being an aunt, and was so excited when her nephew Cooper was born in February. She was such a wonderful person, and we feel so blessed to have had her in our lives, even if it doesn't seem like it was enough time.

Skiler is survived by her parents, Mike and Vicki; her brothers, Bobby (Ivy) and Aaron; her sister, Alexis (James); and her nephew, Cooper. She is also survived by her grandparents, Bob and Shirley (Punky) Hampson of Livingston and Peggy and Larry Williams of Hinkley, N.Y.; cousins, Clay, Shonna and Dan (Pam) Williams of Phoenix, John and Kim Hampson of Livingston and Bob, Marlene and Hannah Estes of Menasha, Wis. Also by her cousin, Curtis (Jennifer) Jarnish and his children; her uncle, Gerald Grunst of Poplar Mich.; her great-aunt, Dodi Goedert-Robe of Las Vegas; and great-aunt and uncle, Herman and Elaine Thacker of Canyon Country, Calif.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at Hagler-Anderson Chapel today. A celebration of Skiler's life will be held at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Her interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
