Byron Dean Berglind, 45, of Townsend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 30, 2009.

A memorial service celebrating Byron's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 301 N. Cherry St., Townsend. Interment will follow at Deep Creek Cemetery.

Byron was born in Missoula on Oct. 29, 1963, to Lowell and Bonnie (Cockren) Berglind. He was a graduate of Broadwater High School and received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Montana State University. Byron and Cindy Smith were married March 2, 1989, in Everett, Wash. They made their home in Everett, where Byron worked for Boeing Corporation for a period of five years. Byron and Cindy and their two sons, Cody and Alec, moved to Helena in 1992. At the time of his death, Byron was the plant manager of Graymont Western, Inc. in Townsend, where he had been employed for 18 years.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, hiking, fishing, outdoor cooking and woodworking. He had a passion for many things in life: MSU Bobcats games, meals from the grill, watching his boys play sports, sharing in family outings and simply being involved with life.

Bryon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mabel and John Cockrell; paternal grandparents, Victor and Lillian Berglind; father, Lowell Berglind; and brother, Barry Berglind.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons, Cody and Alec, all of Helena; mother, Bonnie Berglind, of Townsend; and sister, Diana Berglind of Townsend.
