High court pick a radical

President Obama is trying to rush the confirmation hearings for his Supreme Court nominee. But Judge Sonia Sotomayor has just been outed by the liberal American Bar Association as being a member of the National Council of La Raza ("The Race"). Among other illegal and ill-advised ideas, La Raza promotes the secession of six southwestern states as a Hispanic-only homeland.

Here's a couple of Judge Sotomayor gems. In a 2001 speech to a school of law, she said "… a Latina woman … will reach a better conclusion than a white male." In 2005, during a law school panel, she claimed that the U.S. Court of Appeals "is where policy is made." This nominee is nothing more than a judicial activist who attempts to legislate from the bench, and whose Supreme Court rulings are overturned 60 percent of the time.

Rush the confirmation hearings? Why? What else might we learn? This "empathy" pick by Obama is starting to sound more like an enemy of the law.
