It was good to see the name of a conscientious objector, Dr. Michael Sirr, in the section honoring veterans on Veterans' Day.

Although I do not know Dr. Sirr, I believe we should show our appreciation not only to men and women who served our country in the military forces, but also to those who stood up for their belief in non-violent solutions to human conflicts.

I'm not the only one who thinks believers in non-violence are worthy of our respect. Didn't Jesus say, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God?"
