It appears that Sen. Tester not only failed to read the nonstimulating stimulus bill before he voted for it, but may have failed to read that pesky U.S. Constitution before he voted for Senate Bill 160. Titled the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act of 2009, it provides the District of Columbia a voting seat in the House of Representatives. Article 1, Section 2, 8 and the 14th Amendment addresses representation for the states and seat of government. So much for the oath taken and swearing to uphold the Constitution! The Constitution was penned and ratified by we the people to limit the government's power, not as a tool for the frivolous folly of a few unengaged politicians to limit the people's power. This bill is stalled in the House after an amendment was cleverly added to repeal all the unconstitutional D.C. gun bans. Even Baucus got this one right! He must bow to different group of lobbyists. Maybe the next election will bring true representation to Montana and someone with backbone willing to fight to protect our Constitution!
