City deer lose advocate

I have been an avid advocate for our local deer. However, this changed early Sunday morning. My loving, constant companion and best friend of nine years was killed by an aggressive yearling in my driveway. This could have been a great-grandkid, but was my "kid." Now his many friends will not see the graying dachshund, Chase, wailing throughout Helena daily nor at Alive @ Five. No more LCHS Strutt Your Mutt; Great Falls Dachshund Fest; much less outdoor sports events and throw in a few wedding and funeral receptions. My thanks to our compassionate animal control officer, Jenny Robinson; kind Fish and Game warden Kevin Cook; unknown Helena police dispatcher. The deer better head back to the hills. In my heart, I know "all dogs go to heaven."
