Democrats to blame on economy

For eight years, the I.R. ran daily anti-Bush cartoons on their editorial page. I thought that since he had retired, they might find someone else to insult. But old habits die hard, especially for liberals who love to hate.

Bush did not cause this depression. Remember, Clinton was president in March 2000 when the market began to crash. During the next 10 months that he was in office, he did nothing to slow the fall. He was too busy putting out fires in his pantry and trying to get his wet cigar lit. In mid-2001, Bush got a tax cut for businesses and wage earners. By October 2007, the DOW was 14,100 and the unemployment rate was 5%, a historic low.

The housing market crash was brought by Barney Franks who pushed lower and lower loan criteria in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. When the Republicans tried to reverse his policies, Chris Dodds filibustered the bill to death. They and the Democrats are the main reason we are in this mess. Bush had nothing to do with it. You wouldn't know that from the way the liberals unbalanced reporting of the situation is concerned.
