Who stands to lose?

Have you noticed all of the expensive television advertising against a federal government-sponsored health care system? Who do you think is providing the money to pay for all that expensive advertising? Doesn't it appear obvious that much of that money is being provided by the insurance and medical industries? After all, who stands to lose the most from a government operated health-care program?

Do you really think the average family or worker stands to lose the most? Or do you think the ones who stand to lose the most are the big profit-taking insurance and medical providers? And who do you think provides the money for all those drug and insurance ads that appear on TV day and night all year long? That's money that originally came from you and me when we paid for insurance and drugs!

And doesn't President Barack Obama raise a very telling issue when he talks about open-market advocates who claim that open competition always provides the best services and prices? Then President Obama asks: If open competition always provides the best services at the best prices, what do the big health-care industries have to fear from a government-provided option?

I have no problem deciding what the answers are to these questions. That's why I want our Congress to enact a government-sponsored health care option!
