I am writing in response to an article that appeared in the City/State section of Wednesday's paper.

As a person of the Jewish faith, I was thoroughly offended by the proselytizing and misinformation that was printed in this free advertisement for a concert that was masquerading as a newsworthy article.

There are several branches of Judaism, but none called Messianic Judaism. For Goetz to be quoted in the IR by saying that, "There is no doubt that Jesus is the messiah," is an affront to Jews and people of other non-Christian beliefs.

Just as politics and politicians can deceive, religious zealots can be a dangerous and divisive lot. The Independent Record acted irresponsibly in printing this "article" which is offensive, inaccurate and provocative.
