VICTOR, Mont. (AP) -- A Labrador mix mutt from this Bitterroot Valley community brought Montana its first national beauty pageant award Friday.

Bow was crowned Mutt America on the ''Live with Regis and Kelly" television show. Regis Philbin serenaded Bow with a rendition of ''There she is, Miss Mutt America...," and Kelly Ripa crowned the 2½-year-old female dog.

First runner-up was Harley, a half-English bulldog and half-boxer from Forest Lake, Minn.

Bow won a $5,000 gift certificate to PETsMART and, with Philbin and Ripa, is to grace an upcoming cover of Modern Dog magazine.

The winner was determined by a vote on the Internet after Thursday's pageant on the daytime talk show. That was when Bow howled along to Dean Martin's ''Everybody Loves Somebody" in the talent competition.

Second runner-up was Wilson, a ''talking dog" from New York City. Third was Lucy, a soccer-playing mutt from Peabody, Mass., and fourth was Banditt, a polka-dancing dog from Milwaukee.

Bow was adopted by Dave and Georgine Forgatch from the Bitter Root Humane Association in Hamilton.

The Forgatches discovered Bow's talent when Dave had her in the cab of his pickup and plugged a Martin cassette into his tape deck. When ''Everybody Loves Somebody" came on, Bow started singing along -- stopping then and ever since only when the song ended.

The 10 finalists were put up in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel, given ''makeovers" (a bath) and were ferried around New York City in limousines.
