U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg says the Department of Veterans Affairs has agreed to open an outpatient clinic in Havre to serve 2,800 veterans along the Hi-Line.
The VA will contract with Havre health care providers to provide primary care, urgent procedures and health education to veterans. The contracts are expected to be in place by midsummer.
Rehberg, a Republican, says the new clinic will reduce driving times for veterans seeking health care.
On Tuesday, Democratic Sen. Jon Tester said the agency had agreed to expanded space for a VA clinic in Billings.
