KALISPELL (AP) - State wildlife officials are investigating the death of a grizzly bear in the Trumbell Creek area.
The grizzly was found dead over the weekend. It appear to have been shot, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks said Monday.
"The person responsible for this act not only stole from the resource, but also stole from the people of Montana," said FWP Region 1 Warden Capt. Lee Anderson. "It is critical that we get help from the public to solve this case."
FWP is asking anyone with information to contact Anderson or Warden Perry Brown at 406-752-5501, or call 1-800-TIPMONT.
