The Carroll College men's basketball team had no problem handling Northern New Mexico, beating them easily 80-51 Friday night in Salt Lake City.
Carroll's fast-break opportunities gave them a large 43-17 first-half lead.
The Saints also profited from rebounding, dominating NNM 17-9 on the offensive glass.
The Saints were led by Chris Kaschmitter with 14 points and nine rebounds. Chris Medina and Josh Saunders both added 13 points apiece.
The Saints improve to 6-0 on the year and will try to continue their unbeaten streak tonight against Grand View College in Salt Lake City at 5:30 p.m.
South Dakota State downs Montana 64-59
CANCUN, Mexico (AP) -- Jennifer Warkenthien scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead South Dakota State to a 64-59 victory over Montana on Friday night in the Caribbean Challenge.
Maria Boever added 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Jackrabbits (6-1), while teammate Ketty Cornemann recorded 10 points and five rebounds.
Mandy Morales scored 20 points to lead Montana (3-2), which was up 35-30 at the half. She also tallied four rebounds and five assists.
Sonya Rogers added 19 points for the Lady Griz, while Sarah Ena had eight.
Montana's Britney Lohman recorded nine rebounds and four assists.
Both Lohman and Ena fouled out.
Montana defeated Illinois 59-57 in overtime on Wednesday in the opening round of the tournament. The Lady Griz then fell to No. 10 Maryland, 71-58, on Thursday night.
