Anthony Hogan blasted two home runs in the second game and the Helena Senators peppered Class A opponent Bitterroot with a total of 32 hits to sweep their doubleheader Saturday at Kindrick Legion.

Adam Eckhart hit two doubles and went 3-for-4 to lead the Senators to a 10-6 win in the first game, while Hogan nearly cleared the safety net and went 3-5 with four RBI in Helena's 14-9 win to close out the day.

"(Hogan's) itching to hit all the time," said Senators head coach Dave Thennis. "It was another good day for him, and over the course of the season he's been tough to get out."

Bitterroot led for just half an inning in the first game when Ryan Weigle led off the top of the third with a single. The squad followed up with five straight for a 5-3 lead before Hunter Day retired the next three batters.

The Senators struck back immediately as Jake Winslow walked, Hogan singled and Eckhart hit one of his doubles to right field to score both. Colter Sternhagen then singled before Corey Scevers flew out to right field. Nick Retz hit a sacrifice to score one more before Chris Nichols and Nick Trapp both singled as the Senators batted through the order.

In the second game, Hogan hit a solo home run over three-quarters the way up the left field safety net to give the Senators a 14-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but would bat into a double play in the sixth as the Red Sox kept the game within distance from being called for the 10-run rule.

They ended up scoring four more runs in the top of the seventh before Thennis pulled Sternhagen off the mound to let Eckhart finish out the game.

"Offensively, we had a lot of guys do good today," Thennis said. "I was a little disappointed we couldn't shut the door.

"We clean up some things at the end of the game and we're doing all right."

The Senators are now 29-10 on the season, 6-4 in conference. They'll host the annual Keith Sell Tournament beginning Thursday.
