Capital High senior Ty Erickson has signed with the Montana State rodeo team, the university announced on Wednesday.
Erickson is the defending Montana State High School Rodeo Association all-around champion, who is well in the lead again this spring.
"He's a bona fide three-event threat on the timed event end with nice horses," said MSU head coach Mike True.
He joins a 2009-2010 recruiting class that includes another top-performing Ty.
Ty Wilson, from Meadow Lake, is the Saskatchewan All-Around Champion who excels in the saddle bronc and bareback riding.
"Both are good students with excellent work ethics. They're both fine all-around athletes who've excelled in other team sports. We really like that."
Erickson is an all-state basketball player for Capital High.
Wilson is one of the top hockey players and football players in Saskatchewan.
Also heading this group is Kevin Peterson from Kilgore, Nebraska; Trevor Sunvison from Livingston; and Weston and Tyler Zupan from Wilsall.
"All three of these kids are fine people, excellent students and handy cowboys that we think will help our program in every way."
