Locals have successful rodeo weekend

It was another busy and successful weekend for area cowgirls and cowboys as they tune up for the Last Chance Stampede this week.

Lindsay Knaff of Winston won the Montana PRCA Circuit barrel racing event in Havre with a 17.87-second run to win $826.80. Jodie Irish of Helena was fourth.

Ben Wrzesinski of Boulder split third place in the bareback. Nick Stubblefield of Helena won the second go of the steer wrestling and $502.10, while Helena's Walt Anseth was third in the average. Sam Levine of Wolf Creek was second in the first go of the tie-down roping, while Brady and Chase Tryan (Helena) were third in the first go of team roping.

In Shelby, East Helena champion Ben Wrzesinski took fourth in the bareback and fellow East Helena winner Roddy Cameron of Townsend was third in the steer wrestling. His partner, Shannon Blixt, of Helena was sixth.

Helena's Shelby Blixt was third in the barrels. Lindsay Knaff came in seventh.
