Colorado's Tyler Smith gave up just five hits, pitching the complete game, and the Bobcats never gave up the lead in their 11-3 win over Edmonton at the Keith Sell Invitational at Kindrick Legion Field on Friday.

The game started Day 2 of competition, and Colorado didn't hesitate getting their numbers up on the board, taking a 1-0 lead at the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Jake Gonzalez that scored Jay Rollinson.

But, it was a big third inning that put the game away as six Colorado runners scored, making it tough of Edmonton pitcher Andrew Mirasty.

Robert Lanaghan led off the inning with a single, Matt Lopez followed with another and Gonzalez walked to load the bases. Wes Keelan then hit a two-run double to left field and would eventually score.

Neal Schipper hit a fielder's choice to get on base, but both he and Chris Shine, who reached on an error, would score when Rollinson followed up with a two-run double to right field. Lanaghan flew out to end the inning as the team batted through the order.

Edmonton's Tommy Muhlethaler would hit a solo home run to start the fourth and both Matt Rude and Matt McGee would add runs while J.J. Grimm hit an RBI single, but it was simply too little too late.

Lanagahan and Gonzalez both finished 2-for-3 with two runs apiece while Lopez and Keelan both went 2-4 with a double and a run scored. Schipper finished 2-3 with a double and two runs.

Muhlethaler finished 2-4 for Edmonton.
